  1. Are there PowerPoint slides to download for the FIRST video (Good Niche – Option #1)? The ones available for download are for video 2 only. That’d be great.

  2. In option #2 – you kept typing “woman’s crafts” and didn’t find any results on magazines.com. If you type “women’s crafts” you get plenty of results. Apparently spelling counts on that site.

  3. Great information from both presentation. Thank you very much!
The only thing is I find it quite difficult to hear Zane every time I listen to his presentation, and I always end up turning up the volume to the max. So it might not be my computer because Tom’s was pretty clear and loud enough.

  4. Great presentation Zane! Now I’m equipped and able to know whether a Niche is profitable or not. Thank you very much.

    1. Hello Mike. I had a little bit of a problem with the checklist also. The checklist downloaded but it won’t print out. The paper came out blank, so I saved the checklist to my desktop and was able to print it that way. Just in case you have the same issue.

  5. Hi Zane,

Thanks Profit Academy coaches for listening to the students and adding this video that comes at the niche research from a different angle. Showing the specifics of researching at one of the many sources, in this case Clickbank. I opened an account at Clickbank last night. I think the way to think about this research is as an iteration, back and forth rather than a straight line. I need to think of the possible ‘area’ and the niches I could sell to within that area. I research at clickbank and facebook, amazon etc and see if my niche ideas should be eliminated from my shortlist or stay and deserve more research time. Back and forth. At the same time I can consider this overall ‘area’. I feel this needs to be somehting that all of my niches fit within so that when I settle on my own domain name and register and build my own site/blog, that it will make sense to my list members. That way I can start out highly specific in niche choice but expand over the long term with complementary niches that reinforce each other. My brand will then emerge and the niches within my brand will support each other and the brand will become more than the sum of it’s parts….

I could be off base here but these are the sort of ideas that these training videos are triggering for me.

    Thanks again,
Regards from the UK to all the coaches, staff, and fellow students around the world 🙂

  6. Awesome presentation! I like that the material is repeated over and over and over and over again by everyone.
The more I listen to everyone, the more I start picking up on words that are key but I didn’t get before. So the big picture is now filling in with more details and they are all going in the right places, just like a puzzle. Thank you everyone.

And yes, Zane, please speak up a bit. I am recording the webinars with screen-o-matic and volume’s on max, but I still need a small room with low echo, with no background noise and I also need to redirect my sound with a cardboard box towards the microphone on my laptop … I think it’s hilarious what I’m doing, it’s funny when you see my laptop with cardboard around it. Haha. I want to capture everything you say, and it would be a bit easier if you spoke up a bit 🙂

    Thank you again!

  7. One more request to Zane. Could you possibly speak a bit louder? My volume is on full but whenever you speak is a lot less loud than other speakers. Towards the end your voice becomes even softer. Please do speak up! 🙂 Thank you.

  8. Excellent tutorial Zane. I am staring to see a clearer picture now. It was very useful. Thanks a lot.

  9. Thanks Zane. Really good presentation; this is what I was looking for. The previous presentation exposed us to what’s available–good. Focusing on ClickBank in this video was really helpful.

  10. Wow, thanks so much Zane, I’ve been really struggling with finding a niche and was starting to get discouraged. Can’t wait to get home and get working! Can’t wait to leave one of my two jobs!! 🙂

  11. This is a comment for Zane’s ‘Creating a freebee’ video, which comes next. (there’s no comment box available).
It’s pure gold, first class! Zane has a relaxed, calm, reassuring manner and talks you through all aspects of finding a freebie. I was thinking I’d have to write or produce freebies myself (eek!) but Zane shows where to find them all. Now I’m all excited again. Thank you so much Zane, for lifting my spirits – I was beginning to think I wouldn’t be able to do it. You have re-inspired me.

  12. so am i building a page for someone elses product..or am i suppose to have buisness already (should i say product of my own)

  13. I have listened to Tom and downloaded the transcript. I am confused about the Niche. I have researched today eBay, facebook and Amazon but by finding a niche and I don’t have any products to sell. What is the benefits from checking these sites. something is not clicking, how am I going to be an affiliate? Can someone help me explaining how am I going to become an affiliate please? Thanks you

    1. Hi Nora
A Niche is an area of interest. Something that interests you. It doesn’t have to be a passion. You brainstorm what these areas may be for you.

By going to FaceBook and Ebay you are sure to find people interested in these areas as well. From these groups you can glean ideas of products that you may be interested in supporting (promoting as an affiliate). You look for what is being discussed in the forums, the posts, the advertisements. Your perspective is now one of – can I promote this? Does it fit with my values and ethics? Can I see that other people want it, even if I don’t necessarily want one directly myself? Do I want one so badly myself that I will buy it and then promote it…??? You are there as a researcher. That is different from someone primarily interested in buying!! You narrow your research down to one niche to start with. And grow to others later.

When you look within a place like Clickbank you will see categories of products that will overlap to some degree with your interests &/or chosen niche. You then have to filter through these categories to look for products already being sold, that you can promote as an affiliate. You compare these to what you found on the social media sites. You make a decision on some products that fit in.

I am running around a bit in circles myself here, in coming to a decision. But I’ll sort this out for myself before moving much further on into the course. I’ve listened to this video a couple of times now as well as starting the 1 – 10 list, and finding that some of my good ideas are not so popular in the Clickbank!!!

      Enjoy and persist!! regards, Dolf.

  14. A very good breakdown on how to do research on a target market. This is a clear and concise presentation and something that I think will prove invaluable to narrowing my market down and also having important key words to use in future e-mails and broadcasts. Thank you!

  15. Tom, I learned a lot. I really don’t do anything with social media. I have a Face Book account but seldom go on it,
. I use Amazon to order books I have a ways to go. Thank you for a very informative presentation.

  16. Great training video, Thanks.

I am aiming to start my research now and also catch up with the coaching support videos that have been released. I actually went back and read Anik’s Circle of Profit book last night. I’d previously read half of it and then stopped when the Profit Academy got started. I actually found reading through Anik’s book extremely helpful, perhaps because it is such a condensed overview of the process we are starting. In regard to the training video in niche selection I agree with one of the other comments that wouldn’t it be great to have a case study that demonstrated the research process that lead to an already successful niche that is currently generating money. I think that would be awesome. It might remove some of the doubt over the nebulous nature of this research process.

  17. Hey everybody!
    Thanks coach.
I want to recommed you look on google trends. is the google results of global statistics and presented by countries, cities, etc. It might help…looking for insights about our niches.

    See you

  18. Another great way to researching a good niche is by using google keyword planner. Once you’ve logged in, click on tools and select the display planner. You can modify the search according to the niche you’re targeting. You get to see the demographics and interest in that niche.

    1. How are you using Google keyword planner? I have a Google account but when i go there, it’s asking me about my website, my ad, my credit card number…and the Google rep told me that this service is not free. So how are people using it? thank you

  19. Hi my name is Sabra and I am a total newbie. I don’t know how to get on the forums.

  20. Okay guys I found a GREAT way to get demographics for your market if your niche has a magazine.

Generally, magazine websites offer readership statistics. Go to your magazine of interest ‘s website. There’s usually a link somewhere that says “advertise” or “advertise with us” or something. Click that. On that page, there is usually a FREE pdf of a “Media Kit” which includes ALL the demographics and statistics of that particular magazines subscribers (at least the ones who completed the survey at least)

    Anyway,

    Hope this helps!!

  21. As i go deeper in my niche research, I kinda feel lost especially when searching for the same keywords into different platforms ie.; Facebook, Google, Magazine.com, Amazon, etc. Also, I’m not able to find my competitors or maybe I’m not sure how to identify them.

  22. I need a mentor to work with me to find the most popular niche. I like very much the law of attraction, men and women relationships, anything about money, happiness, good health, travel and entertainment… Anik, could you please help me?
    Isidore

  23. I have gone back to module 1 and taken notes this time, it took about three times longer while I paused and took notes, but I feel happier with my absorption of the material. I’m finding a lot of information reading the comments

    Wayne

  24. I have asked in the forum area but got no reply so I thought I would try here.
I would really like to discuss my choice of niche with a mentor. I am not sure if my passion could be a great niche to start with. Is there a possibility to talk to mentors over skype or email?
I feel a bit lost and helpless. Pls advise.

    1. Hey Kombogi,
If it was me I would do the research to see if my passion niche had any products to promote and if they were highly converting products (meaning high gravity score on clickbank). If not then I would pick a niche to begin in that has those things. It will help you out a lot in the beginning as you:
      1. learn how all this stuff works
      2. make some money faster

      Dr Ted

  25. I did a Google search for market and demographic research. There seems to be a lot of good websites to laser targets your audience.
Market research.com seems to be a good site.
    Hope this helps

  26. Really helpful video Tom, thanks. I’m just wondering however, why the more in-depth module in Researching Niches is not until Module 7. I think I’m understanding that it’s important that we choose our niche now before moving too much forward so I guess I’m wondering what will happen when we get to module 7 and realize we may possibly need to change our niche based on the new information we receive …yet having done all the work at this point to move in a certain direction. Anyway …just wondering how that all fits together.

In doing research I came up with this article called “The Top 7 SEO Trends That Will Dominate 2015” that I thought others might also find helpful – here is the link for anyone interested: http://www.forbes.com/sites/jaysondemers/2014/12/08/the-top-7-seo-trends-that-will-dominate-2015/ .

  27. Watching Tom step by step through the Niche learning and discovery process was immensely helpful in learning the steps, and even more specifically understanding what he was thinking with each step in order to determine how to make the next move. Thanks for this insight, Linda

  28. This was very helpful as I am still having a difficult time finding my niche and had not yet used FB as a tool to search. I was on clickbank and amazon books primarily. Thank you!

  29. Excellent Tom!, but i have few doubts cause too many options of things i enjoy! what do you think?
    -Oscar

  30. not sure what to look for really! i like travel, but don’t know how to narrow that into a specific niche. bit concerned that i don’t know what direction to go in at the moment!!

  31. Looks its a straight forward “how to” research on a particular niche. good one.

  32. There is some really great information in here. Thanks for running through all of the resources Tom. Got some great direction out of this!

One suggestion I would like to make is to show comparisons by researching for specific niches that are already known to be highly, moderately, and not very profitable/popular to provide a relative comparison. This would help solidify the strategies covered!

  33. I can relate to Andrei Savitski’s comment on March 2nd @ 7am about searching stuff on Facebook for Personal Development. A strategy would be to use generic key words for aspects of Personal Development. Bowe Packer’s comment on Feb. 27 @ 6:02pm about getting more specific with the niche was helpful, especially for searches other than Facebook. Facebook doesn’t search by topic, only by if someone registered a page that includes your search word. For this case, I’m wondering if there is a good website resource for specific keyword searches or subcategory titles for broader categories that can then be plugged into Facebook… Hmmm……

    1. Weird… The first time I typed “Personal Development” into FB, I didn’t get much of anything. Now a few things pop up. It’s a hit or miss on FB… I Googled “popular keyword searches” and found some sources that could help. I’m interested to find out if others have preferred keyword search resources.

  34. As true as its said:
“Learn To Surf The Ocean – Do Not Try To Redirect It!

Thank you Tom for a good lesson!

I am grateful, happy and proud to be a member of Profit Academy!

    Thank Yo All!

  35. thank you Tom i learned a lot. finding a niche is not easy but your presentation will drive me to a good niche. now i learned where to find a good niche. i will action today

  36. Yes great help.I have some reservations about how specific I needs to be .Take healthy products for instance .One can divert into all directions eg. organic, glutenfree, low sugar etc .How do I specify the exact item of target?
I am so excited about this as I have always wished to give greater customer service.
    Cheers

  37. I am an avid researcher and never thought to research a niche in this way. Thank you for the insight.

    Lynn

  38. The transcripts, download powerpoint slides and checklist are great!, But what would even be even greater for someone who spends a lot of time in their car like I do, would be a (MP3 AUDIO FILE TO DOWNLOAD) !!!!!

    1. Hey Jack! When I need an audio, I will set my phone next to my computer speakers and record the audio while watching the video, then play back the audio while driving. Works better if you watch the video once so you can picture what they are talking about. Just don’t share the audios!! Hope this helps!

  39. Thanks, Tom, for the very informative video information on niches. You delivered a lot of value, and started the wheels rolling inside my head. I watched the video twice and took pages of notes so it would all sink in, and with this new knowledge you have given me, the personal research will begin. I had planned on starting with digital products and work my way to physical ones, but I believe the research is all the same. It’s win/win for me, and I really don’t care how you spelled ‘nitch’ or ‘women’, I understood your ‘bottom line message’ as it was presented. I’m excited to find my new niche, and about this program. I’m pumped! Let’s keep Rolling forward, my friend!

  40. I like the advice of solving their problem, not yours. That is key. I have lots of ideas I’d like to try out as niches but this will remind me to check with the buyer’s interests first.

  41. Thank you Tom, lots of good info here. Like some others, I think I will re-visiting to make sure I have good foundations !!

  42. Tom, great thorough market research training. I took plenty of notes but I must admit, I’m still feeling a bit confused with all the info there is to digest.
A great takeaway I took is to “solve their problems, not yours, unless you want to sell to yourself!”

  43. After watching the presentation three times, I thought the video was detailed, logical, measured, easy to follow and provided me with certainty in my approach to finding an ideal niche. It brings confidence.

  44. Wonderful presentation. Thanks
I recommend also for future lessons including the legal issues surrounding setting up an online business. It might be helpful to many students about some issues that could get them in trouble.

  45. So much to think about, at least I have a starting point by listing everything I’m interested in before I started this program. This will allow me to use the tools that you mentioned in away to get as detailed as possible to reach these people. That also lets me connect with them and help them feel like a family and not just a consumer

  46. Thank you for this very informative video. I took a lot of notes and learned several new tips that had not been included in trainings I went through outside of Profit Academy. I still don’t know my profitable niche, but I know how to begin the research. Thank you.

  47. Very informative…I love doing research, so this is going to be fun!
Thank you for the insights and knowledge
    To re-quote Tom:
“Learn to Surf the Ocean…Don’t try to Redirect It”…
    Hmm, I like that:)

  48. Enticing video, loved learning here .Depth, clarity, delivery , duration was perfect and had me glued to the screen, for more.
Its not about me, focus on your customer needs !

  49. Hi.
First, I wanna say I really have zero knowledge about this but I think I can learn it because Anik said so.
Now, I’m almost finish with module 1and I don’t know if I missed something or I just still don’t get it but after finding you’re niche, where do you get your materials or freebees if you don’t have your product yet? Like the books or videos or research? Isn’t that where you’re supposed to build your Opt in page? As affiliates? Wouldn’t it be easier to know what is available and see what interests you? Nobody has asked this question so I think I’m the only one who doesn’t get it… Well, you did say anyone can join.

    1. Please post questions in the forum so all can benefit from the question and answer. This section is just for comments. Place your question in the Finding A Niche sub-topic in the PA Training section. Thank you 🙂

    2. Hi,
Thanks for asking this very pertinent question, I could not put it any better than you have put it,but it has been at the back of y mind ever since I watched the video, after researching and finding your niche, where does one go to get the information or digital material related to ones particular niche ?

  50. Thanks, Tom – really enjoyed that! I only had time to tune into half of this before work this morning. Excited? Yes! Could I concentrate at work? No!

    Great delivery and inspiring 🙂

  51. Thank you Tom. The information is usefull. It is interesting what you said about how the internet marketing and social media world works!.
I like to learn,. It was clear and simple.

  52. I have many interests due to my creative nature. This helps me to understand that the niche I choose needs to be what people want. Thanks for this valuable tip, so I choose wisely.

  53. Wow! Going round in circles for some time now and being miss led on the internet with so many people on YouTube and other sites lead to -0- so listening to Tom’s word and how to do simple home work and do your research in finding out what people like, is worth the money already,,,

I was surprised to get all the copies of the entire outline WOW ! nice

    Thanks Tom Hitchens

  54. Great presentation. This is the starting point and anyone who gets it right here will get it right in this business. Well done

  55. Great video demonstration, Tom. Thank you for breaking this process down. Your commentary as you research is helpful to understand the process. I think I can handle this part. My next concern is how to determine that the chosen niche is profitable. Thanks Tom!

  56. You hit on the niche I was considering … will do more research as you indicated. Good, informative presentation, Tom. Well done!

  57. Excited to find my first tasks and feel that I am making a real start. Shock, Like a splash of cold water, I had already decided what i wanted to start with, something that has been a 30year passion, but hold on a minute , didn’t think that there might not be thousands who also like that, and wow! I could be much more specific and that might open up new angle. Thankyou for bursting my narrow thinking open.

  58. After watching this video I’ve tried to make some “search” at Facebook by topics related to Personal Development niche. But either I do something wrong or I search using wrong phrases, I cannot find any quality group with many likes up there. And even when I find something there are only motivational posts and no messages about products or smith like that. Please advise

  59. Ok, I have downloaded and printed the transcript and checklist. I was hoping that the check list was more specific. So what I did was to underline the highlights in the transcript to review what I needed to research. Since this is a very important piece to getting started, some time in the future I would suggest that you make the checklist more detailed/specific. Something like this…
Start off by listed the places where to research:
What did you find on FB?
    List names with higher “likes”:
    What stood out for you?
What did you find on Amazon?
    Physical products?
    “E” produtcts?
    Price ranges?

List the rest – EBay, magazine.com, similarsites.com, etc. Maybe a different list of questions but you get the idea.

Then a section – What can you conclude?
For example: Have questions that you will fill in, like
    1) Who is your customer
    2) How old?
    3) Is there a gender preference?
    4) Hang outs? Hobbies?
    5) Where are they from?
    6) Income?
    7) What kinds of things do they buy?

Can you find products that may be similar to your idea?

    What are they charging?

Do you have a sense that your product is wanted?

    Who is your competition?

    Stuff like that.

Anyway, I sort of did my own checklist that way and it helped me do my research better.

  60. great info but ,I am still lost, and when I go to similarsites.com I cant see percentage as it shown in the video,is it free service or I need to pay for it

  61. I know what market I want to get into, but the competition is just too intimidating. I am an MD who does Energy Medicine. How on earth do I compete in THAT market???????????????

    1. Maybe you can’t. Don’t know anything about that market. If you discover that’s the reality, you’ll need to either look for a sub-niche of Energy Medicine or move to something where you ‘can’ compete and profit from. Maybe there’s a similar area of interest. That said… if there isn’t a large pool of offers/products/services to sell to a market, you’re wasting your time from the start.

    1. Hey David. Replied to your additional note on the same. If you can download the PDF, then you have saved it. The printing problem is an issue on your end. When I open up the PDF, I see a “printer” icon that I can click to print. Otherwise, you can click and hold the ctrl key while clicking the P key on your keyboard after you open up the PDF.

    1. Hi Anh, a customer avatar is your mental idea of your ideal customer. Many who start out selling online make the mistake of not identifying their customers. They are trying to sell to everyone and by doing that they are not talking to anyone special, so no one feels that you are talking to them. To make a sale, the customer has to feel that you are talking to him or her. Think for yourself when you have bought something, you did it because the company who sold it talked directly to you and your needs. That is what you have to do as well when you are getting your customers. You have to create a person that is your customer avatar. For example I want to start an email list in internet marketing, like Anik, but it is a big market so I have to zoom in on who I want to market to, what do I want to talk about, so I invent David, 50 years, works fulltime, wants to prepare for his retirement by running an online business. Not sure what niche to enter and is looking for an A-Z of running an online business from the ground up….and then I go on to think what does he need to know..what products and information can I give him…and I might create 3-4 different customer avatars. It helps you to become more focused on your business and the customer feels that you are talking directly to him/her.

  62. Thank you so much for the training and everyones’ feedback. I am a bit nervous and letting go of old beliefs that don’t serve me…i am going to follow thru this time…TODAY! I have put in few hours so far and it feels great to dig in and focus and to be clear. The training is straight forward. Wrote down tons of possible niches and well it’s day 2 so more digging and research…then i must go out and shovel snow!! I am very excited to move forward in my life and to make my 1st dollar! whooohooo!

  63. Awesome stuff, I’m feeling that I’m at the right place and in the right hands. I tried this elsewhere but it was not as clear as it is presented here. Thank you so very much Anik and your team!

  64. I agree with the comment above … When/How do you know that you found the right niche, respectively, that you struck gold with a niche you researched? In order to not over-research things, but still be right on the money?

Seems like you could over think/research the process of finding a niche if you dont already have an interest/passion in a particular thing. It does seem overwhelming but anything worthwhile will take time and effort and I think we are all here to do that.

    Very good module. Thanks

  65. To find a profit niche one must conduct some very detailed research. this video is a bit of a broad overview and lacks some details.

You have to conduct some Reverse niche marketing research and really drill down into to large profitable niche. You are really after a hyper focused niche and one that has some earning potential in.

    For example:
Mass Market — health and fitness
mass market niche (general): weight loss
narrow niche: weight loss for men
hyper focused niche: weight loss for men over 60

again, the video doesn’t really even cover this. you must get this narrow so that you can focus all your messages on that particular group, person, avatar.

and it has to be a large enough audience for you to make money in.

    hope this helps.

    1. right on Bowe. Easier to stand out in a more narrow niche too. Once you get one narrow niche in profit, add another – ie weight loss for WOMEN over 60…
Tyring to figure out if Bowe Packer is a real name lol

    2. Good points. Note that additional Niche Research training covers the tips that you referenced in upcoming training modules too 🙂

  66. This is a great video. I really liked that this is about solving their problem not mine which will keep me focused correctly. I liked how you went through the all processes for finding a niche. This is all new to me, I’ve absolutely NO experience so I have some nervousness. I can see this is doable once I do the research.

  67. download and save it to your computer then can use adobe to print it that is only way it worked for me

  68. interesting….how many videos should I watch before starting the work that’s indicated?

    1. You start the work immediately.. as soon as you see that “work” is needed to move forward. For example, you just watched the niche video. Do you have a niche chosen? If not, take some of the tips, steps, and advice that Tom provided and start applying them 🙂 One step at a time.

  69. Please can I suggest to admin that you list the most recent comment right at the top, and not right at the bottom? It is tedious having to scroll the bar all the way to the bottom just to see the latest update.

  70. This Niche research promises to be immensely time consuming. Just with your advice on how to search on Facebook I quickly found that there is an audience in my field. However, researching what companies are doing what seems to be an endless task.
And I keep skipping off to contact businesses or to write pieces of advertising copy and blog. No idea how to constrict this to one hour a day.

    1. I hear ya. It takes laser focus and the will power to turn off distractions. If your schedule is super busy, you’ll want to set aside time (somehow) and pencil it in so that you are able to dedicate time to the tasks needed.

  71. I have some thoughts on niches and have already done some research. However, I want to know if this is applicable to a multi-level marketing product? Secondly, do I need to decide on my niche or product before I move on?

  72. Hey Guys!! I just joined today (Sat, 28 Feb 2015).

I’m from Cape Town, South Africa, and I’m a Fitness Professional.
I’m fortunate enough in that I have already created my own digital fitness eBook entitled “Ripped Dad, Fat Dad”.
It has a catchy subtitle, “What the ripped & muscular teach their kids about fitness that the fat & obese do not!!”

In fact, my first launch was via Groupon South Africa (I’m now currently working as Business Development Manager at Groupon SA for the 4th consecutive year). Launching my own fitness eBook was my very 1st sale with Groupon. The link can be found here:

  73. Very Informative. Liked the way that he chased the idea around the 6 research sites and added and subtracted key words to his search to open and close doors. That will be very helpful on Monday when I spend my half day on the Niche research. In reading these comments the main one that I have is how come so many of you had already viewed this on Feb 23?? Did all of you just Ignore The Pre Module 1 Module? and dive right in? Or is it that I am in Australia and even now at 17.00 hrs on 28/2/15, it is only 01.00 am on 28/2/2015 in the USA?

  74. Thank you so much. Very good explanation. Its a little overwhelming, scary , its time to start the business.

  75. Great info. I agree it is a bit overwhelming at first glance. I would have never thought about the research aspect of an online “anything.” Thanks Tim.

  76. I don’t understand why we’re looking at phsycial products when Anik stressed we’re digital marketers.

I don’t understand how looking at these phsycial products helps us in this regard.

What I did understand is when Tom went to Amazon’s books; but I don’t understand the physical products part.

Maybe that can be explained in greater detail please.

    Thank you.

  77. So my passion is Parenting. I have owned a successful childcare for 17 years now. when doing my research I found that Google has 342,000,000 links about parenting. So being an intuitive coach and using that in coaching parents I looked for intuitive parenting and found 916,000 on Google. On Facebook I found a page with 1,279 likes. magazines.com had 58 parenting magazines. Then I went to parenting infants and toddlers. 2,970,000 on Google. Facebook had a a page with 2,865 likes. I’ll go with parenting infants and toddlers.

  78. This was great info on how to begin researching a niche, finding the target audience and what the competition is doing. Thank you!

  79. Okay. The video has run some more. The script says ‘you can do the sorting. You know how to do the sorting of the most popular products on Amazon.com” So how do you do this on Amazon.com?

  80. So now I know how to actually search on Facebook. Had no idea that it was such a useful search engine for the websites of interesting companies.
” Finding a good Niche”keeps stalling and then refusing to run like most of these videos. Not sure how to get around the download problem. (Well, not without stern words to Tony Abbott anyway!)

  81. I have always said, You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make them drink. I want to learn what makes them drink, then they will come back for more.

  82. Hi, I’d like to ask Tom if it’s good idea to start a business in a niche that is amazingly popular, but has very little products released. For example if you search on amazon, they only have one book. But if you check on google adwords analitycs, there are millinos of searches.

    1. You definitely want to get into a niche market where there is a large pool of product options. If you’re limited to 1 or 2, you’re going to be out of business really quick. There are other options than Amazon to look for product offers (Clickbank.com, CJ.com, OfferVault.com, ShareASale.com) just to name a few.

  83. I also have some research on real estate on facebook but all the pages only get around 1000 to 9000, it seems not many people like it, doesn’t it? but in the book “circle of profit” , real estate is considered one of the best niches, so how may likes you can know is it a good niche or bad

    1. Hi Dung I am glad to see you here .I thought you are Vietnamese ,hopefully yes so I will have companies

  84. thank you for the lesson, I start researching on my topic about personal development, and I find out that there are many things you can tell about that topic, but I have a question, what kind of features I need to focus on, for example: the number of shares and likes on facebook, does it means when a post on facebook has a very high number of like and share, it means alot of people are looking for this kind of info

  85. In This Video I learned to do my research thoroughly and very intense to know what exactly will make me the most money. And in order to accomplish this task is to do a whole day or two until I become an expert about the niche I have chosen to monetize. This is very exciting for me because I have never done this before. I am feeling good about starting my own business.WOW!

  86. Excellent class. I have followed this pattern in doing much of my research, but this has helped me classify and given me more details for myself and also a guideline of how I can teach it to others.
    I have BEGUN!!

  87. Fantastic overview and examples here! The word research always terrified me–especially in relation to school work. But now I’m seeing the excitement and possibilities of researching in areas I love and enjoy…in fact I’ve been doing this for a long time, but never really associated it with “research” because it can be fun to surf and look up information on relatable and enjoyable topics to me…which seems to be exactly what this buisness caters to, along with its proven step by step methods. Thank you!

    1. I get the same thing. It is surprising to find out that part of my leisure time was actually market research!

  88. Really appreciated this lesson, loved the walkthrough! The most useful part of this lesson was listening to Tom thinking out loud as he was searching it really provided perspective.

  89. I have a much better understanding now on how to do research to determine my product niche. I thought I had to market products that I like and want. This information has made me switch gears. This is key to becoming a successful online marketer. Thank you for this lesson.

  90. Extremely informative and well presented, I only have one recommendation I spend a lot of time on the road and thus have more time for audio than time for video. I therefore copy all the text from the transcript and paste it into “Natural Reader” and convert it into MP3 format this allowed me to listen to the presentation prior to watching it and then again listen to it after viewing the presentation for reinforcement. I obviously recommend that you also make a MP3 version of the presentation for use in smart phones or MP3 players.

I know I have a good niche for my passion product, however this lessen was great for finding relating niche products for my lead in page.

Thanks again for an extremely well organised presentation. I look forward to work with your team in the future.

    Sincerely

    Jan Lindhardt (816) 914-5161

  91. Love this. Very straight forward, clear and easy. I have a question, though: When/How do you know that you found the right niche, respectively, that you struck gold with a niche you researched? In order to not over-research things, but still be right on the money? Thanks!

    1. Personally I don’t think we should try to look for “gold” right off the bat. I’m going to try for “silver” for starters. 8^)
I think the key is to start with something just to dip our toes in the water, Dr. Anja.

  92. I think this is one of the areas were most internet marketers go astray. It never occurred to me until now of the value of researching your target audience. The idea of looking for products catering to a specific target audience didn’t even cross my mind until NOW. I work in a coffee shop along 5th Ave. which has one of the most foot traffic and a hubbub of different races, age brackets, and frequented by foreigners, since it’s practically a few blocks away from Times Square. It’s interesting to observe certain customers leaning toward a particular product and it has everything to do with their unique sense of style, age, gender and even the weather!! There are a lot of variables to take into consideration. It’s nice to being able to correlate the two areas of business together.

  93. After a moshed up start due to SNAFUs with access, this is a very good start, thank you

  94. The video was very good. Showed me what steps I have to take regarding the markets I want to get invovled with.

  95. It would be helpful if the correct spelling WOMEN’S and not WOMAN’S was used for searching this niche! Surprised nobody caught this error considering this mistake was made at least 3 times in the video.

    1. Hi Barbara. You would be surprised the number of people in that target market who may be typing in either “women’s” and “woman’s” to find info on the web. So the fact that he’s typing women’s when you prefer woman’s is acceptable 😉 You have to think out of the box when it comes to doing research.

    1. Yea mine came to me after 3 days. What I did was evaluate myself what I do where I go what I love and just started writing everything down on paper…soon your list will get pretty long at that’s it.

    1. My initial thoughts on finding the niche is Network Marketing as this is currently my passion and have been in this industry with one community and family using a time proven global support system for the more than 5 years now. Based on my initial thoughts and learnings in this module, looks like a promising market to link up with in building a digital business.

Appreciate your comments and inputs on this direction!

      1. Hi Reynaldo, I also love network marketing. Have you seen networkmarketingpro.com, Eric Worre does some really great things for the industry, you could possibly get some great ideas from his site.

  96. This is a great way to research target markets that are HOT!!! Excellent questions a Transcript & a checklist.
    Thanks Anik and PA community.

    1. Sure. You can look for more than one to start (to decide which is right for you), but ultimately you only want to focus on ONE to build your business around.

  97. This seems excellent advice for beginners like me. We must not assume that the market will conform to our own idiosyncrasies. I like the advice that we must “surf” the ocean.

  98. Hi,
I am very pleased to have become a member of the Profit Academy and have made a start listening and printing Module 1.
I look forward to going trough all materials in due course, I feel that this will be an enjoyable process, and I will do my best
to learn the necessary skills as we go along.

    Regards.

    Arnaldo

    1. depends on your opt in rate and what size of list you want to have
If your goal is a list size of 5000 people with opt-in rate of 50% you need to show your ad to 10.000 people

the interest is determined by your ads title. a good ad, which meets the viewers interest, might achieve an opt in rate of up to 80%

    2. The minimal interest is… if people are already buying products in that niche/market, it’s worthwhile. However, the other factor before pursuing is if there are a large pool of products that are available to sell to this market.

  99. How do I transfer access of this program to my other computer? i had initially tried to get access to this website on my other computer and it was acting up and would not find the webpage for me. So I had accessed the webpage on my laptop. I would prefer to have access on both computers. Does it matter if one computer is a MicroSoft program and the other is Apple?

    1. No. Doesn’t matter what operating system you have. The PA training is available on all devices/computers and browsers.

    1. Hahaha. I also find the North American pronunciation funny. But hey, imagine how dull the world would be if we all spoke the same. If you want to see a funny moment related to this watch the memorial get together service / event that Apple held following Steve Jobs’ death. There’s a bit where Jonny Ive laughs about how after decades working with Steve he still could not get Steve to pronounce Aluminum as “Aluminium”. Very funny. 😉 I think by the time my business is up and running I’m going to be pronouncing Niche as ‘Nitch’ as well 🙂

  100. Very informative – i think one could lose oneself down the rabbit hole looking for interesting sort after niches and is is probably a good idea to write down niches you find and cross off areas from your list that don’t pan out. I enjoyed this segment – it was easy to follow.

    1. Hi Luis. I feel the same. It feels like a potentially endless task where I could get lost and sidetracked. I’m going to remind myself of Anik’s advice though and just keep trying and take small actions one at a time. The structure of this training is a great antidote to my tendency to procrastinate, to look ahead and over analyse. Good luck to you… 🙂

  101. Okay, here we go… first module read. I agree, this is key and the thinking that has been conveyed is important. Know thy market. I think I get value already here.

      1. Type “women’s jewelry” affiliate program into Google. Search CJ.com or affiliate networks like OfferVault.com or ShareASale.com, and of course Amazon.com has an affiliate program. Otherwise, type in a keyword into Google and pull up the sites in the results (that sell jewelry) and look for an “affiliate” link that may point to info about how to market their products as an affiliate. Then, as Tom showed in the video, take those sites that you found and put into SimilarSites.com and visit those sites and look for an affiliate program.

    1. This video was so informative, I’ve realised I’ve been running
my brain all the wrong ways. Thank you for wrapping all the gifts
and putting them into one box.
