  1. Hi:
The video on Landing page is very informative. The video sometimes become distorted and it is hard to see.
    Brie

    1. You’ll need to contact SendLane for support. You’ll find their contact info in the SendLane section of the forum.

  2. Hi, I’m reviewing earlier lessons to glean information that I may have missed the first time around and I noticed in one of Dave’s videos on get response he said something about getting paid for CPL on my thank you page in Get Response. He did not elaborate and I don’t know where to find more information on how to get paid for my opt ins. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!!

    1. CPL = cost per lead (ShareASAle.com, OfferVault.com, MaxBounty.com, etc). Please ask additional questions in the forum. This is only for comments. Thank you.

  3. Here are some steps I jotted down from the videos in this section, the steps might help those who feel overwhelmed at the great but huge amount of information here:

SETTING UP YOUR AUTO RESPONDER: SENDLANE – Getting started & overview:
    – Setup Send Lane and get started
    – Create your account
    – Choose your site address XXXX.sendlane.com – it will host your page for you..give it a bit of thought and come up with either a company name or niche
    – Up to 2500 email subscribers
    – Check your spam email for the 3 emails from SendLane and mark them as not spam – white list the emails
    – Log into Sendlane.com
    – Go to Account Settings and Upload a Picture and verify your profile info and email address
    – Verify email address: Before you can send campaigns with your reply to address like you@yourdomain.com, we need to verify that you have an email address at yourdomain.com
    – You can click the “Verify an email” for send lane to send you a test email
    – Verify the code that the email has; else this step will have a pending status
    – Billing and subscription shows your plan, rates for other plans, cancel, credit card etc.
    – All icons are on the left side for quick navigation
    – Dashboard or Home is a shortcut on the top
    – Manually create a subscriber..add yourself..or you can create a list..add yourself to all lists so you see what your subscribers are getting when you get your emails yourselves
    – Add to suppression list or global suppression list or add to list’s suppression list – this is if a subscriber has asked you to be unsubscribed
    – Search for subscribers by name, email address
    – You can create campaigns – as HTML or plain text, see draft campaigns, recent campains
    – A campaign is a mass email that you have sent to your list as a broadcast
    – Automated Series: its a powerful feature, to send emails automatically tailored to and based on actions that your subscribers take, can be to subscribers who have specifically clicked on a particular email
    – Autoresponder: Send emails on day/time after users enter your funnel after subscription
    – My templates: Template is a ready made email that is preformatted or designed to your preference that you can use when you want to send emails..you select the appropriate template each time you want to send an email
    – Integration: allows you to create opt in forms for a list; create a new form, give a list and form name; integrate them with your pages or have Sendlane host them for you
    – Reports: gives you analytical data on your campaigns
    – Landing pages allow you to choose from the templates that are provided by SendLane; Sendlane can host these landing pages for you at the site you have setup initially of you want or you can host the page at your own domain and provider
    – Account settings shows you your profile..same as what you see when you click on your name at top right

    —————————————————————–
Creating your List and Auto Responder – Part 1:
    – Create a list with a name that will help you distinguish it; Put your default from name – your name or your company name; default from email id, unless you want to use a different one for this list, verify the email again, copy/paste the code from the email address, remind people of why they are receiving this email, default subject, company name can also be your personal name if you choose, address – what’s in the Sendlane subscription, choose your country,
    – You can see the list, subscribers count, open rate %, click rate % on list of lists
    – Manage subscribers and list settings
    – You can add subscribers to the list manually, you’ll usually get it automatically from your page most of the time
    – You can also import subscribers – if you buy from elsewhere or you are switching from one autoresponder software to another
    – You can change the reply to email address for each list/campaign
    – Create Autoresponder: create plain text or HTML version, use a plain text alternative version, because some subscribers will filter out HTML emails
    – Select HTML, choose the list the AR mails should go to, set the first mail to go at 0 for any days of the week, set hour, day, week, for emails,
    – Choose between 10am and 4pm, do some tests and change to see what works best for you and your target country subscribers,
    – Specify it’s the first email that is sent out, subject of email, next specify name of the campaign,
    – Choose a template if you have one or create a new template or code your own template

Creating your List and Auto Responder – Part 2:
    – Choose from a template to start off with, a popup shows how its going to look
    – Customize it as you want, change the title, replace the image, alter the optional segments, text, retain the formatting, remove sections you don’t want, customize the options for each component, change the size/font/color, click and drag the components to adjust the spacing between components, or vary the config parameters on the left, change body background color, typically have a white background for email and black text color, link color, top border and bottom border
    – Save and continue: alter the text part which was auto generated from the HTML, preview and send a test email
    – Verify all the settings for this AR, correct/change anything you want through the Edit button on the right
    – Start auto responder, confirm you want to start, needs to be “approved”
    – Create a plain text auto responder next, say for day 1, enter the text content you want, separate the content from the footer which will be automatically added to the bottom, add a couple of lines, see preview and confirm
    – Go to the AR and create new emails for each day you need
    – Code your own which starts from blank and lets you drag and drop the elements you need from the left, you can create the content through your own HTML editor as well after deleting all the components, copy/paste content from your HTML editor the HTML code, but don’t remove the default classes but only paste the part below which is the content,
    – Now make any changes you want through the options on the left
    – View how the mail looks on various devices including mobile devices, send yourself a test email and see how it looks and then continue on review page, preview and test, start autoresponder and confirm it
    —————————————————————–
    Working with landing pages:
    – SendLane can host pages for you in minutes with the click of a few buttons or you can download it and put it up on your own servers
    – Go down to Landing pages on the left menu, create template button, choose from several templates, you can choose from a variety of pages, you can choose videos, timers to create urgency, you can create a sales letter to webinars to product launches to opt in pages
    – First we’ll click on template number 3 survey page 3, its a mini squeeze page with a background image which is becoming popular these days, url-slug is the sub domain you want SL to add to your domain name which you setup in the settings,
    – Edit the page components as you want, replace the copy with your own copy and save it as your own version which you can also reuse later, put some features and benefit points at the bottom if you want, edit or/and hyper link the copyright, disclaimer, terms and privacy policy to standard pages you use or edit them or remove them – privacy policy and disclaimer are required by law, save page
    – SEO Settings: how would you like this to appear in Google search results, what title, desc, keywords would you want to best attract people to this page
    – opt in form integration: Choose your desired list, your thank you page URL,
    – Tracking code: If you are going to use Google Analytics or visual website optimizer this is where you’ll paste the code in the head or body part
    – Exit popup: this is to show a message to users just before they try to leave your landing page without subscribing, you convince them one last time to do something that’s a lower feature before they leave, do you want them to stay on the same page or redirect them to another page? like you’ll receive a free XXX if you stay on this page and take action today..say “Click Stay On Page” now..or redirect them to another of your pages or your Facebook page where you can try to sell them again
    – Once you do this a few times, you’ll become an expert at creating the landing pages and setting them up
    – If you are happy with the LP, then choose publish – Download HTML to publish on your own server, Social Media hosting on twitter or Google+ or Lead Pages publish it as a page on your SendLane page
    – You’ll now see the Landing page in your landing page section
    – You can now Duplicate Landing Page when you want to create a new one later, if you want some variations to test out, like changing the background image
    – Use background images of size 1600 X 1200 or 1366 X 768
    – View on various devices desktop, tablet and mobile phone options and ensure it looks good
    – Click blue circle to edit grid settings, click and drag where you want the elements and add the other elements you want in that grid like paragraphs, images etc.
    – You can drag and drop a video element to the page
    – You can choose normal or show popup where video will play, you can do custom embed or YouTube or Vimeo through copy/paste of the embed code from the video source and paste it into Video embed field
    – Create another landing page with a timer: Add timer option and choose the timer options as required

    —————————————————————–

    – The subscription form is the page where the user comes from the landing page to put their name and email id if you are using a two step opt in page model
    – Go to integration, create form, choose the list for the form, give a name to the form
    – Build your subscription form, change the settings and edit the fields, you can use captcha for confirming its a real person and not automation, replace default image if required, use can use free form HTML as well which brings up a HTML type editor where you can put in your text with HTML formatting

    – Use the QR code where mobile users can scan the code and go to the page
    – Else you can copy/paste the embeddable HTML into your own site page if someone else designed your opt in page and you just need the form from SendLane
    – Save the form
    – Go back to integration and you’ll see the subscription form you just created – you can delete it or edit it
    – Segmentation and automation rules: go to automated series and create a new automated series, select when the series should kick in – choose subscribes to a list or submits a form
    – You can add actions like unsubscribe to a leads list and subscribes to a customer list or subscribe the user to another bonus list which gives separate freebies like to those who were navigating away and you gave them a bonus to get them to subscribe
    – Segments: go to lists, choose a list, select segments, add a segment, give a name, set a condition, know the purpose of your segment so you know what name to give, like everyone who lives in another country or those who live only in your country segmentation like UK subscribers, select the subscriber fields and actions and the campaigns, choose the location – country is United Kingdom, try out other types of complex multiple segmentation rules, then create the segment, you’ll see the subscribers who meet the segment in the window if there are any that meet the criteria,

    1. Dear Mr. Rajendra,

WOW!!!!! Thank you for all of your hard work! My word….for those of us who are completely new to this type of thing, this is a TREMENDOUS help.

Thank you again for taking your time to do this!

      Best,

      Ingrid

  4. Hi, GetResponse has a great team and good service …but sometimes some of the guys are not really competent…So you are not happy by some Answer, just wait for the next assistant. My personal experience..
1)always I’ve got great help but I day I found 1 Girl ” Patricia” that redirect me to read a 1000 of world instead give me the answer…so next assistant fix it well in minute
    2) I had trouble to create a double opt-in, 10 days ago I asked and someone told me – we ( GetResponse) don’t do that service..
so I fight with myself more than 10 hours just try and try…. nothing…Last night I asked again , uauuuuu!!! there was a great boy!!!
with 2 single opt-in and link then you have the best double opt-it….
so what the message?????? Never believe to the 1st assistant..if you are not happy, wait and ask to another !!!
    Good Luck , Giuseppe!!

  5. Hoping that All Instructional Videos of PA for Phase 1 and 2 will be collated even in DVD and will be available for all students to buy, or best as Free collection that will be sent to respective address of students.

  6. Get response videos are amazing ,I was confusing before and take from me long time ,when I was trying to adjust the sendlane videos on get respond

  7. Great overview of everything we need to get started with our auto-responder. I did find myself a little confused at times, but I know that once I study it and work on figuring out the details that I’ll understand more.

  8. I have been an active member of Profit Academy since the initial launch this month. This section was by far the most informational and hardest to learn. Following Tom’s instructions step by step AND watching the video over and over again helped me develop my SendLane experience and now I can create the pages with the ease of somebody who’s done this before. This is motivation to ANYBODY having trouble on any segment at all. Never give up. Believe in the system Anik and his team has given us and believe in yourself. You can do it.

  9. Hi all,
I have been through videos a few times and i am sooooo confused??! I am trying to go through each unit step by step but there does’nt seem any logical steps? i have set up my opt in page with lead pages what i see to be the fisrt step) but can’t save as it is not intergrated with an email account? so i studied the sendlane videos got account etc watch the intergration section but don’t really understand what a form is? do i need to set this up first? would i best doing my opt in page from sendlane? when i am creating a list for the first time i dont actually know what my prime purpose is to start with? lot of questions i know sorry just want to make some progress! somebody please help!;)

    cheers
    Rich

  10. SendLane looked really user friendly. I’ll post this in the forum but I was curious if it had a spam rating like GetResponse? I’ll also look on the forum about this but from what I’m understanding for a newbie it’s either SendLane or LeadPages plus GetResponse??? Otherwise, great job with the presentation!! I’ll probably dream about this tonight!

  11. Wow – that’s a mouthful and then some. Wish I had a transcript for the Sendlane portion. It sounded so clear, until I tried to read my notes, and I feel I’m still pretty confused. Then to add GET RESPONSE, which I don’t plan to use muddied the waters even more. I’ll be going through these some more, or going over to Lead Pages – not sure yet.

    1. GetResponse may muddy YOUR waters, but some of us Profit Academy students made a choice to NOT use SendLane… Sorry if that offends some people, but imagine how it feels wading thru a SendLane instruction (almost a commercial) to eventually get the information you are really needing. It’s best if you have chosen SendLane to just ignore the GetResponse lessons, that’s what I have to do with all the SendLane specific lessons.

      1. Everyone should choose which option is the best match for them individually. I don’t believe anyone would be offended because you made a different choice/decision. But to discourage others by saying “…imagine how it feels wading thru a SendLane instruction (almost a commercial) to eventually get the info you are really needing” isn’t fair. That statement suggests that patience might be the real issue here. Many might respond by saying, “imagine wading thru SendLane (or even GetResponse) with NO instruction at all and trying to figure it out all by yourself and taking even longer to get the info you really need” 🙂

        1. Thank you, Zane. That was a fair comment. I know how much of a “frustration factor” goes with being a newbie — I know because I AM one! Fortunately I’m retired, and can spend hours and hours each day going over this stuff … and not just this stuff — but the stuff — PDF downloads, online tutorials, online chats and even live telephone calls that are available to us on (at least) Leadpages and Get Response. (I don’t know about Sendlane, because even though I’m signed up for it, I’m also signed up for the others, and they appeal to me more with all the features they provide, so I haven’t really pursued Sendlane beyond trying the “exercises” along with Dave in his tutorials here.) Heck, I just figured out the other day a little more how to use the Profit Academy Forum … I’m not even done with Phase 1 Module 1 yet, and Anik’s moving into Phase 2 already!

That’s OK. I’ve determined NOT to be in a rush. I’m planning to go through all the Modules of Phase 1, then go back through them, dissecting them and putting them back together. Thankfully, I’m not starving in the meantime.

H#ll, i’m just an old gamer, anyway! And I’m approaching this as a new and wonderful FRPG game … all except for the “F” (Fantasy) part! This is for real … and it’s endless. We have lifetime membership in Profit Academy … and lifetime support! And lifetime membership in the worldwide community of digital marketing — and that universe is just BEGINNING to get populated — we are on the ground floor of something HUGE, folks! (And as any gamer will tell you, “Game? What game!? This is no game!” I’ve never played any game with less than my all, and this is no exception! In fact, it’s my favorite game now. Maybe ever.)

          — Your fellow “gamer,” Larry

  12. If I had known this months ago, then I had people on my list and probably earned money….
I am very happy to know now…Thanks again Tom and Anik, to give us all this to-the-point information !
    Merci beaucoup, Mc France

  13. I’m having trouble with the videos on this page and there are no downloads. Can you please give the downloads as in previous training sessions. As I can’t get them to run all the way through. Many thanks 🙂

  14. Thanks Dave. I’m a little confused but I know it just means I have to dive in, make mistakes and learn from them to get better. You are all doing a great job at teaching us newbees 😉

  15. Wow! I was very impressed with the content of GET RESPONSE. It was very comprehensive, and plenty to learn. I think it also has a Manual and tons of tutorials. Overall, subscription is per year and a good price.

    1. Likewise, Aurora. I just signed up for their 2500-contact plan with annual payment … comes to $20 (and change) per month. (If I can’t make at least $20 a month as an affiliate, I better check my pulse to see if I still have one LOL!)

  16. In Part 1 Creating your list and auto responder (Sendlane), my video stopped at picking a template: my template, predesigned and code your own. Did anyone experience this?

  17. Everyone’s situation is different, but IMO I view it simpler to use GetResponse as a dedicated autoresponder, and LeadPages for page building..

Just to give some feedback, Sendlane seems a little confusing and quite limited. What if I want to use Sendlane as just an autoresponder, and build pages elsewhere? Also, the page building functionality on Sendlane seems limited. For example, I cannot position the opt-in form w/ images the way I want to.. I couldn’t even figure out how to revert back after changing the background image.

On the other hand, it looks like in due time, this will be a really great, powerful tool. I love the idea of a one-stop shop.

Maybe I will deal w/ the limitations to fully utilize 90-days free since I’m just starting.. we’ll see..

    1. Just after posting this I think I realize that building a “Subscription Form” under “Integration” in Sendlane generates just a widget, i.e. just the tiny form box itself. This can be copied and pasted anywhere onto your own custom website’s html code.

Looks like I could have by pages built elsewhere and still use Sendlane after all!

    2. I do think the same as you Cameron. I started to make a Landing Page but could not retrive it and got lost. So I remade it in Leadpages…but later it will be better surely.

    3. I agree, Cameron. I think Sendlane is still in the incubation stage, and has strong possibilities for the future. I will be keeping my eye on it.

  18. This is very good. I would like to see a wp plugin for sendlane. Apart from that I would give sendlane a shot.

  19. I tried to register and have entered a United Arab Emirates mobile number but it would accept it. As I am located outside of the United States, how can I register?

  20. What is the main difference between sendlane and get response? Was trying to learn with sendlane and now getresponse appeared?
    Which to choose?
    Thanks

    1. SendLane and GetResponse are both autoresponders which help you collect and manage email leads. SendLane includes (at no extra cost) landing page creation tools and has a 90 day free trial. GR has a 30 day trial.

  21. Hi Dave,

I have watched the video on Setting-up an Auto-responder and i am glad that you explained it thoroughly on how to use Sendlane as one of the many choices for service provider. I thank that you the Administration of the profit Academy has given as FREE use of the services to mention, 1) FREE Landing Page Creator; 2) FREE Email Marketing Autoresponder. Personally I am Thankful for your kind understanding to people like me who is new in this business, moreover, to those that have no enough budget like i am.

Just want to have a comment or you might look at it as a suggestion regarding the filling-up with the field in the pages. THAT SENDLANE SHOULD ATTACHED ON THE SIDE OR AT THE BOTTOM OF EVERY FIELD A BRIEF INSTRUCTION ON EVERY FIELD TO BE FIELD-UP IN ORDER TO MINIMIZE TIME FOR SENDLANE OF ANSWERING SO MANY QUIRES.

I am not an expert on computers and hard up following all the TRAININGS that we all have. I am trying my best to digest all what you are teaching us, slowly but surely. I post this suggestion or comment because this is my experience as one of your Junior Student……

Thank you very much More Power to Profit Academy and Sendlane as well….!!!!!!

  22. These tutorials take you on a whirlwind tour of what SendLane can provide…maybe a bit too fast for the novice, like myself. It seems that most of those who commented previously on accessing SendLane are already in Phase 2, with their own product. In other words, they are up and running while I am in a baby walker. For those who want to start in Phase 1, like myself, it seems like we are diving into the deep end of the pool and not knowing how to swim ! Any comment on this ?

    1. No one is in Phase 2 yet. That phase hasn’t been released yet. Everything seems intimidating when you’re starting out and don’t understand something. That goes away soon 🙂

  23. Although the tour is exellent – and everything will seem so easy – so –
there is plenty to carefully repeat and learn – with the help of the material on the Video.
    Slowly and methodically.

Questions of varying types will surley emerge along the way.

    Thank you teacher!
    Josef Mayer

  24. What is the difference between the Opt In Form on the final video vs the Landing Page? Surely when someone enters their email address on the landing page, they are opting in? Yet on the last video, we are taught a seperate lesson on opt in forms?

    1. As covered several times during the training videos so far, the same thing goes under three different names. Opt in page, landing page and squeese page.

    2. I am with you on this question. I built a great opi-in page, a transition page, and a thank you page as Landing Pages in that section. I was able to tie them all together and it seems to work. I then view the last video and they show how to create an opt-in page in the integration section. I was wondering of that is just another choice or if that integrates in a different way?

  25. I followed the instructions along, with the videos, to create my first opt-in page but need to know how to attach the free item to the page so they will get the content when they opt-in. How do I do that?

    1. Lydia did you got the answer to your question? I am stock in the same section. I got the same question : How to attach the free item to the page?

      1. I created a Dropbox account and if a file is in the Dropbox there is a button that will copy the link to your clipboard. I then went back into the thank you page and put the link in the integration link box so when they click on the download now button it takes them to the file in my dropbox. Seems to work well.

The other way is to take that same link and in the email I send after subscribing, I type CLICK HERE to DOWNLOAD and use the little chain link button to link the words to my Dropbox file. Does that make sense?

I found that it is probably better to send the email rather than just have them click the download button on the thank you page since after they click on the download, they leave your site and probably won’t be back. Also if you send to an email, then they are more likely to give you a real email instead of making one up!

        Hope this helps. Laura

  26. Whoa, Nellie. My head is swirling a 360. It’s a lot to absorb. It’s a well done video series and Dave’s style is excellent. He sure sounds more calm than I feel right now. I know it’s not as hard as I am perceiving it to be. I’m sure we will “get it” as soon as we start to use it–but right now it feels overwhelming and abstract. I will watch the videos again several times. Really looking forward to coaching sessions and LIVE Q+A.

  27. I am suffering from information overload. I will clearly have to revisit these tutorials as I make my way through the process. Really enjoying acquiring new knowledge and can’t wait to get started.

  28. It would be nice to have other options such as Mail Chimp, Get Response, Lead Pages. Do you have an affiliate reslationship with Sendlane?

    1. You can use any service you wish. Anik does not have an affiliate relationship with SendLane – he’s one of the founders 🙂 Lead Pages is not an autoresponder. Send Lane provides 90 days free (no one else does that) which is a great benefit to those who are just starting out and want to save on expenses until they get up and running.

  29. Its not easy at all. Quite a lot
to absorb. I have so many
    questions to ask or confirm.

    1. Hang in there. Anything new and unfamiliar is always intimidating at first, until you dive in and actually do it. “Doing” is the best way to learn. For any questions you have, or need confirmed, just post in the forums where coaches and other members are eager to help.

  30. My friends are not getting the sample e-mail I sent using Sendlane… I must be missing something. Is there a checklist of to do’s? 🙂

  31. In video four “working with landing pages” the edited content didn’t save properly. I’m not sure if anyone else caught that. I’m editing the same survey page as well and I am having the same problem. Notice the “what’s your email” form. Another thing is the background image I uploaded is in tiles sections not full. Please help.

    1. Never use Google images as you are infringing the rights of those websites that your image is taken from. Google images show up (like content) from website images ranking for that keyword.

You can either buy them from Fiverr.com, as you suggested or you can use other image paid services shutterstock.com, istockphoto.com or do a Google search for “royalty free images” and you can choose from what comes up on the SERP (Search Engine Page).

  32. this video really helps me a lot!! thank you very much..

but one thing theres something wrong of editing on my landpage i cant trash or duplicate the words etc.. its not functioning…

  33. OK, so after reading so many questions in the COMMENT box, I just have to make this “comment” for the sake of the admin person because i can feel his/her frustration. I know that he/she is trying hard to be professional about this. Folks, PLEASE use this box for COMMENTS ONLY and the FORUM PAGE FOR YOUR QUESTIONS! Please follow these simple instructions. Thank you

  34. Like me, a lot of members are non english spokers, and the transcriptions are very useful for me.

There will be transcriptions for the Sendlane videos?

  35. Great videos.. Just one question on logistics. I noticed that in the training 3 Auto Responder emails were made to go out on different days. I thought that the AutoResponder is the initial email that someone receives when they opt-in to your page. And then you would use the Automated Series for follow-up emails. Can you provide a little more insight?

    1. An autoresponder is an automated email OR series of emails (whether it’s the first one, or additional emails in a pre-scheduled sequence that’s delivered on a specific day/date or time frame – i.e. 1 day after subscribing, 3 days after subscribing, 7 days, etc, etc). For additional questions, please post in the forum for all to benefit from. This section is for comments only. Thank you 🙂

  36. What is the total out of pocket cost due at the start for setting up opt in page, autoresponder and getting the 2500 contacts, once we have the free Sendlane landing page?

  37. Hi Admin,
Why the import subscribers function is not appear under the “Manage Subscribers” tab ?

  38. It would have been nice to know about Sendlane’s opt-in page feature before you recommended LeadPages which costs $$ as well.

    1. SendLane was not an option when the video was recorded. If you signed up for LeadPages right after watching this, and now want SendLane instead, you can cancel LeadPages and get a refund, so no worries.

  39. Hi

what is different between using Leadpages.net and Sendland?

    which one is better?

    Thanks

  40. Hi,
Shall I make a business email address on my own ? or Sendlane will offer this for students ?

  41. I am already on aweber and not using it yet, but subscribed (was never told what to do with it but was told I needed it) and after looking at the videos, I think I may go with Fiverr.com or Leadpages as Tom Hitchens recommended for the features and the cost. I know Sendlane is free but after three months the cost escalates pretty fast. I don’t see that happening with Fiverr.com or with Leadpages.com. Great videos by the way and I love the downloadable transcripts!

  42. I can’t get Sendlane to verify my email. Either of them, but it seems that this is a glitch that Sendlane has since others are saying the same thing.

  43. I’m still very confuse at this point, how many more videos do I need to watch before understanding the phase 1 process?

  44. Anything different we should know if we decide to stay with GetResponse? It does have most all of the same features and I am already set up on that platform. Are there training videos still for GetResponse, or is Sendlane the only option for the sake of this course?

    1. For those confused about Brian’s comment asking about training videos for GetResponse (because they’re directly above), they were probably added after his comments 🙂 If anyone is already using GR, there’s no need to switch and not recommended if you already have subscribers. Re: same features. One of the big differences is the style of landing pages. SendLane’s templates are designed by marketers for marketers. GR’s templates are “corporate”.

  45. HI Everyone,

Has anyone else had any problems with receiving the verification email from Send Lane? I have tried numerous times but I have yet to receive any emails from Send Lane and as such I can’t even build my first list without having my email verified. Any ideas for a fix? Thanks much.

    Mark

  46. Remark about double opt in:

for everyone with base in Germany: you are obliged to use double opt in.
The confirmation mail may not contain any marketing in it
and it must be clear what what the recipient needs to do when he did not subscribe
and what will happen with his data.

It is also not allowed to add social share buttons to a website or blog without
permission of the visitor. For that there are solutions like a 2-click social opt in.

I know… a hassle. But really important for German entrepreneurs.
    Privacy is very important here.

I do not know whether other countries have the same regulations.
In fact, this is why I use my Dutch business for all my international non-German websites.

  47. Hi,
I am a bit confused about Opt in Form and Campaigns section.
    1. Would like to know Opt in Form is equal to Subscription form which is come out to the subscribers when they press subscription button to my Opt-in Page OR… is it just setting up for my Opt-In Page?

    2. I am confused about “Widget Leads” and “Widget Customers”

    3. What is Segment for and why I should need this?

    4. What is Automated Series? Is it not same with Autoresponders?

Looking forward to hear from you soon.
    Thanks,
    Eliza

    1. Hi Eliza. Please post all questions in the forum. There is an “ask a question” just below the video that is a shortcut over to the forum. Then just go to the appropriate section of the forum that the videos relate to. In this case, go to: http://forum.profitacademy.com/forum/solo-swap/sendlane-com. For now… I can answer some of these. 1) Yes, the opt-in form is the same as subscription form. 2) Widget Leads and Widget Customers is just what Dave called his list. He said he was selling a product called “Widget”, so he created two lists, one for leads (who didn’t purchase) and one for just customers (who did purchase the product “Widget”). 3) Re: segment. Watch all of the SendLane videos for the answer. He explains what it is and why you need it. 4). Watch all of the SendLane videos for the answer.

  48. Not sure if my other Canadian friends have figured out how to create an account – but I was able to create an account using my real Canadian address and inserting a US zip code in. Once account is created I went in and was able to change my postal code to be correct. Hope this helps! Amy 🙂

  49. Where is the GetResponse training that was here last week? I have been using GetResponse for over a year and was happy to see that you had training specifically on this product (at least there was last week.)

    1. I am also using getresponse for at least a month now. For someone who has been using it for over a year, are you considering in using sendlane?as I am quite fond of getresponse. Thanks

  50. As per auto-responder part-1 tutorial, in sendlane.com ‘List–>Subscribers’, there is export option but no IMPORT.

    Am I missing something?

    Thanks
    Sweta

      1. Ok I will post the question in SendLane forum. Very strange, but I have “Export Subscribers”, but no “Import Subscribers” under the “Manage Subscribers” drop down 🙂

Also, how do I request the badge for setting up Autoresponder account? I see there is something called Badges here, so just curious for the goodie!

  51. The first time I came across an auto-responder, a couple of years ago, I landed on AWEBER which did put me completely off about this resource. I’ve watched Sendlane videos twice now, only because on the first time viewing was sooooo easy for me to get it, that it got me thinking “I’ve missed something” but no…its calmly and thorough explained videos, very intuitive platform and for a non-tech person an amazing tool. Ohh by the way having the landing/opt ins and forms in one place…it’s just clever. thanks

  52. Looks like a very user friendly application. I am currently using Constant Contact so will look into these features and see if they are available from them as I have my own hosted websites and can integrate with them directly. Good presentation for someone not familiar with these tools.

  53. Love the videos but have yet to see how to automatically deliver the PDF or gifts I set up on my landing page? Have I not reached that tutorial yet?

  54. Hi Dave Lovelace

I am not sure that’s the name you are using here, but I am more comfortable calling you with that name because I know in Inbox BluePrint.

Boy am I satisfied after watching these presentations? Sure. In fact I am over satisfied! [at least at this stage]. I really feel so good… it is like a whole bunch of weight on my chest has been taken off from me! I have been with the Inbox Blue Print since November last year and was very much stuck in the process of creating the optin page, creating the autoresponder campaign, creating the optin form and copying this form and pasting it into the optin space in the optin page. Usually for most of us non techie people , you have to outsource all these to someone at oDesk or Fiverr. This SendLane video appears to clear all those hurdles in our progress to go LIVE which is very frustrating and the cause of most of the delays I experienced. It is very kind of Anik and all the support guys in Profit Academy to have integrated this feature in the program. This will surely step up my progress this time around by more than 300%. I am now more confident that I can be live within record time and earn my first $3,000 within 30 days and hopefully make my first $10,000 60 days. What is even more assuring is the confidence one get of being in a position to make minor adjustments to the optin page anytime there is need for that!

Even though I am expecting my optin page from my outsourced expert by 9th March, I feel so confident after watching this video that I will start this process a fresh from this resource. Sendland is great but Anik are so kind as to bring a lot of features that will make it really easy for most people to complete this phase1 of the profit cycle.

    Thanks very much.

  55. This training was wonderful and thorough. I learned a lot, and felt that if I’d never used anything like this before, I would be totally prepared. Thanks, Tom!

Also, Sendland seems to have features I could have only dreamed of with aweber. So excited!

  56. thank you for the video,

I have set up my Landing page, I am still not clear as to how I can send the free e-book to the people who have given me their e-mail. I have set up the list and the autoresponder as well. Please can you help me.

    thanks

    1. The easiest way (without uploading it to your website, which requires hosting) is to simply attach the content to the email you send out (just like you would attach a file to an email you send to a friend). Otherwise, again if you don’t have your own hosting account, you can use something like dropbox.com which is free. You’ll upload your file (by clicking and dragging into your dropbox folder), get the link to that file and put it in the email that they receive after opting in.

    1. Hi Eva. There are no transcripts, powerpoints or checklists for these videos as they’re pure demonstration tutorials.

    1. Yes Wanda, SendLane allows you to create landing pages similar to LeadPages (such as a sales page, webinar registration page, opt-in page, thank you page) but the biggest difference is that SendLane is also a full autoresponder service so you don’t have to pay for separate services which means an added cost.

  57. The training doesn’t give an opinion so I’ll ask – have you found better quality / more loyal subscribers with the double opt in (having to confirm the email)? I’ve seen other training that recommends not using that as it’s another step and will lower the quantity of emails collected. Please advise.

  58. Ok, so I think I am starting to get lost. What are the exact step order for creating a sales funnel? From what I understand, you start with an autoresponder, then you create a landing page, and then an opt-in page? I thought the opt in was the same as the landing. Thank you for your help

    1. Hi Latoya.

Landing Pages and Opt In Page are the same 🙂

Basically, you set up your Opt In Page (where subscribers go to get your free gift). Once they give you their email address, they have Opted in to your list. Your autoresponder is integrated with the Optin Page (basically, the autoresponder works behind the scenes and automatically captures the email address and adds it to your database).

      Hope that helps

  59. Assuming that I can get into Sendlane and set up an account, this is absolutely tremendous!
It is all there in one package!

I am sure that other autoresponders have similar setups, but this is uncluttered enough that I can get really good at it. I need a newsletter/blog along with everything else. The one stop shopping is
    perfect!

      1. Hi Anja, the Sendlane autoresponder and leadpages service and Leadpages.net, who only provide templates for setting up an opt-in/leadpages are two different companies. If you create an opt-in/leadpage in Leadpages.net you will need to connect that with an autoresponder service,,so if you want to use Sendlane to send out your email you have to integrate the two. It could be people who prefer Leadpages or have paid a one year subscription that still want to use that company but Leadpages do not provide the autoresponder service as Sendlane do.

  60. Does Sendlane have the option of setting a defined delivery schedule for the entire email series? (ie email 1 sent on day 0, email 2 on day 1, etc)

  61. I feel like there should have been some more videos before these. We went from just finding a niche. To good and bad opt in pages to formatting our lists which we don’t have yet. These videos clearly show how to use Sendlane but doesn’t really explain the why behind it or how it might relate to a specific business model or niche set up. Will there be a video on what to offer people and how to find it? Since the opt in is the most important part of the process will there be more videos about that part before we are assume to already have lists to be able to work with?

  62. For some reason, I did not receive a verification email from Sendlane. I checked my spam mail too and it’s not there. Why is this the case? I even clicked the re-send verification code a few times, but still no joy 🙁

    1. “Widget” is just a generic term for an object. It is used in these examples for demonstration purposes only. It is up to you to name your forms and campaigns anything meaningful to you.

  63. Hello

In the examples above, there was no reference to changing the appearance of the opt-in button. Can one upload one of one’s own choice? Is the Landing Page fully customizable? Thank you.

  64. Oh, a post-script: I noticed the red Status beside the newly created autoresponder messages. How long does it take for the messages to be approved? Thanks again.

  65. I am interested to know how SendLane is handling those of us who are located in Canada. Also, although we might send plain text messages, can we not upload a photo as well? I’m finding the Sendlane videos very helpful. Thanks.

  66. I created an account on SendLane during the introductory module and just entered something in the Domain name field. Now that I know more about Sendlane, I need that Domain name changed. Is that something tech support can do because SendLane doesn’t allow me to edit that. Also, in the video section that discusses the “reply to” email address, is this another email address that I create on yahoo or gmail or my personal yahoo email address I use now? Sorry for being simple minded.

  67. Right now I am confused. Am I to use integration from the beginning to drive traffic to me?

    1. Hi Mia. The “integration” doesn’t drive traffic. You choose a traffic generation method (discussed in one of the training modules) to send visitors to your page that contains the web form (integrated into your opt-in landing page).

  68. I watched the other videos first and created an landpages.net account, now i don’t know how to integrate sendlane into landpages? Or should I use Sendlane?
    Thanks

  69. Totally awesome. Intensive, but awesome. Should I wait till I am certain I am ready to start before signing up? Still have to get my niche, etc.
Thanks for having these videos to be able to review.

  70. which step should i do? create a blog or website and then sign up with sendlane ? or sign up with sendlane then create blog?
still have to idea, please help me

    1. Hi Cindy. You do not have to create a blog asap. It’s a useful tool to implement into your business in the near future, so don’t worry or focus on that right now. Just follow the training as each module becomes available so that you’re setting up the must-have elements and core of your business for now. You’re going to need an autoresponder regardless, so you could move forward with signing up to SendLane at this stage and enjoy the 90 days free.

  71. I already have a getresponse account. Am I missing something or does getresponse prevent you disabling double opt in if you are using LeadPages (via the API)?

  72. If you import an existing list into SendLane will SendLane require an additional opt-in to be sent to that list (as Aweber does)? Thanks.

  73. I kinda understand to many different steps but i still dont know what to do day one to start making profit well not day one to the step that leads to that

  74. Just a note that signing up to Sendlane did not work for me as my address was not accepted – I am in Canada so our Postal Code is Letter-number-letter-number-letter-number
Hopefully it will be fixed soon… otherwise I will go use the Lead pages one.
    Kevin

    1. Audio and video work great for me. Haven’t seen anyone else report this. What device are you using to view the video? You may need flash installed on your device/computer/browser, but if that’s the issue, you may see a message appear that tells you that you need it in place of the video. You can also try viewing in Chrome (or a different browser).

  75. This is helpful but I am still at a loss about how to begin and here are my questions: I joined Sendland and I don’t know where to host my opt in page and hope I can do that with Sendland. Is a landing page the same as an opt in page? As I understand it, I first need to have a web address where I can put my opt in page and so I am wanting to know how to do this and if I have to have a domain name or if it goes under Sendlane? Or whatever. As You can see, I am in need of help. Thanks

      1. I wonder, what if I used the free Mail-Chimp for autoresponder, as I have for years, and use leadpages with it… why would I need sendlane then? It´s free for 90 days. But what does it cost me afterwards? Thanks.

        1. Is it planned to increase the subscriber number to more than 2500 in the near future? Because this seems quite a limitation to me.

          1. Never mind… just saw the answer to my last question. Thanks

        2. I read on another google site, Warrier something, that MailChimp does not promote emails with attachments like the ones that we will be sending out and they close down your site without warning if you go against the rules and you lose all of your contacts as they do not respond to emails or inquiries after your site has been shut down. I am not sure if this is outdated information, but I thought that it was current when I read it a few days ago.

    1. Hi Janet. If you haven’t watched the SendLane training videos, please go here: http://memberspacad.wpengine.com/module-1-setting-up-your-business/setting-up-your-autoresponder/.

I can briefly answer a couple of your questions here…

An opt-in page is a type of “landing page”. A sales page and a webinar registration page are also examples of landing pages.

In the process of creating your landing pages (opt-in page, etc), SendLane allows you to provide a unique sub-domain name for that page (as demonstrated in the videos I linked to). So your unique domain might look like http://loseweightnow.sendlane.com (or similar).

Additionally, for SendLane questions, you’ll want to post questions in the SendLane section of the forum: http://forum.profitacademy.com/forum/solo-swap/sendlane-com

    1. Jon, I see we are in the same city and have a mutual friend, Leslie Blackwell. I sent you a FB friend request. It would be nice to be connected to someone in the Profit Academy. 🙂 -joanne

    1. Perla, don’t forget about the forum. Coaches are in there daily answering questions, so post away, but give them a little time to respond. They’re all working very hard to answer hundreds of questions per day.

  76. Why explain Get Response and not Sendlane that is the autorresponder you recomend ang give a fre trial?

      1. We also have a Get Response account already, and would like to see those tutorials as well (even if that ends up on a YouTube channel somewhere) … Unless of course there is a particular reason we should not view them? (or waste our time on them?)
