  1. I am working with Getresponse but they do not accept using an outside source. I wanted to outsource somebody in Fiverr to design my landing page and it did not work. Can you give me some advise on this?

    1. GetResponse is not a hosting company so it’s impossible for you to put a web page on their site. However, it works the other way around. You CAN put a GetResponse opt-in form on your landing page. For additional questions, please ask in the forum. This is just for comments only. Thanks.

  2. I am trying to review and find that the videos for setting your OPT IN page part-1 would not load after the 10th minute mark. Same with Starting your Autoresponder video. Is there some setting I need to correct at my end? Can someone help me please.

  3. Hi there, I’ve got my landing page with GETRESPONSE is just and opt-in page and it doesn’t work…250 vieuvs and 1 subscrib..
I asked to them for make a DOUBLE OPT-IN and they said there is no template for that…but I saw In 1 webinar that 1 of you have getresponse and she use to have a double opt-in…. how she does please????

  4. Please tell me what is supposed to be ON the OPTIN page. What are we putting on the OPTin page and where is coming from OR what are we supposed to be putting on it? I understand WHERE to go to make an OPT IN page but there is no mention of what is suppose to be on that OP IN page. Might be helpful if someone could tell us. Thank you, Dean

    1. The quick and dirty answer to that is… look at other opt-in pages. What is on their pages? Make note of what’s said, how it’s said and where it’s said. The one thing that’s common among all is they all have a Headline (big text stating what they’re going to get and/or what the content offered will do for them) and a Call To Action statement (aka, “Enter your email address in the form below and click the button to receive access”).

    1. Oh, by the way … before I move on to the next video — “Opt-in page part 2” — I’m reading the other comments here for some additional insights … like catching a breath and re-watching the videos (including previous ones, all the way back to beginning if necessary!) if something’s unclear. I’m finding that going over stuff after hearing/seeing it, in light of what’s been said elsewhere — forums, coaching Webinars, etc.) really brings things together and makes them clearer. Thanks, everybody! We really *are* a team … and a family. not “competitors,” but a community.

Blessings to each of us and all of us!

      1. Also “BTW” … I notice that admin does answer some of the questions here in the comments section. I posted a question a moment ago regarding something Tom introduced here (about outsourcing, Fiverr, etc.) in the Forum (“Ask a Question”) link button above. If somebody (or several) respond to that question, will I get an email notifying me? (Hope so, that would be nice.) If not, where/how will I be notified? Thanks again.

  5. i understand how to build the pages…do i advertise for other peoples product?

  6. Hi Tom,

I just tried to sign up for a LeadPages.net account, paid through the nose for an exorbitant rate, they then sent me an automated e-mail with a convoluted password as long as my arm and impossible to remember.
So I copied and pasted it, and they told me I have the wrong password.
I tried to manually type it in, making sure I’ve got all the letters, numbers and symbols right; they still told me I had the wrong password.
I sent them a ticket saying that I’m canceling my account with them and would like a refund…and that I was very dissatisfied with their service.
At the price-tags they’re charging, I would expect them to deliver quality of service that is much better, and I am very disappointed indeed.

  7. I am having a difficult time getting my sendlane page to look the way I’d like. Navigation doesn’t seem as easy as with Lead pages. If anyone has suggestions I’m open! Thanks

  8. I have registered at LeadPages. I have a hard time finding a template, because I dont have a my own product to sell. My idea was to become an affiliate to some of my interests, and take it from there, and see if I could make the snowball rolling. Any useful tips from my standpoint is welcomed gratitude .
    Erik

  9. Thanks Tom for the great info. Have watched them a couple of times and now need to get my niche and opt-in built.

  10. When I open leadpages it looks totally different from the tutorial. Has anyone experienced it?

  11. quite interesting! don’t understand phrases but will return later to the videos to be familiar with its jardin.

    1. A “lead page” and “opt-in page” are the same thing. Either can be a “landing page”. However some landing pages are not designed to collect leads.

  12. Hello Tom
I was a bit confused about the activating bit of your video. When you wish to publish and you said copy and then activate. So I wish to have lead pages host my page and have done a page on their site and saved it not yet published as I have not got any affiliates yet.
Cheers Great content in these videos.

  13. Now I have finally taken me through this section.
It became a little stop and rewinding – especially when it came to
the domonstration part – I became a little puzzeled.
Anyway – Thank you Tom also for this nice preentation and all your fine advice

  14. Thanks Tom for your relaxed way of teaching, the mind is awash with information, all the videos are all mixed up together, not sure what to do next

    Wayne

  15. Second and third viewings are so helpful. GREAT JOB Tom, your skills as communicator are valuable, you are easy to learn from!

  16. Wow! Great information on all the classes viewed so far. Feeling a bit overwhelmed at the minute as now know it is going to take a lot more than an hour a day to do this. Just viewing the this video took nearly 45 minutes and I have just watched for 2nd time. I thought I knew the niche I wanted to go for but not so sure now after watching the piece on finding a good niche – talks about spending a min of half day up to 2/3 days doing the research. I know it has to be done, just think I will quickly fall behind as my live is so busy as it is. I hope to be able to stick with it as the information is great and that gives me hope I can do it. Keep up the good work everyone.

    1. I feel the same Aiden but I know it will all come together eventually.Anything new becomes overwhelming but.eventually becomes childs play.Read The book “Think and Grow Rich” Chapter 16… Brilliant…
Be patient all will be well:)

  17. Wow so much to learn…But thats what i expected.

Think ill have to watch other video again…not too sure where to get the free stuff to offer people.

    Thank you tho…

  18. Sometimes I feel sooo technically unsurvey. I find when I download something, I end up loosing it. I do not know where to look for it in my computer. I thought it might come up on the desk top, but it does not. Any other suggestions on where to look for downloaded material? Just wondering. From Luisa

  19. Can I just say, that all this is crazy!!

I mean, I knew that you needed a opt-in page, and someone to host it, but the tools on here have been the easiest thing so far. I’m not even done with this Module, and I already feel 10x better than I did with any other opportunity out there. I can’t wait to find my product and free item just so that I can set this page up.

Cons: I only wish they would do a video for the opt-in page/hosting site that comes with the system so that you can get a hands on/off feel as to how that one will work compared to the others.

  20. Well, I got the majority of this information- but the edges are still a little hazy. I will need to watch several times to really nail it down and retain it. The material was well presented and Tom’s style is wonderful for a new learner- very laid back and relaxed. Thanks for these training videos. They really help us get the basic information we need. Now we will be able to decide on questions to be answered in the LIVE Q+A and coaching classes.

  21. All of this is new for me. It feels like I’m learning a new language. Tom is doing a great job of explaining things for someone like me. I’m listening to the module for the second time today. It’s starting to make sense. Thank you for being so clear.

  22. I am be a bit confused. Are we supposed to be already creating these pages? Or shall we wait?

  23. Thanks Tom for giving us a crash course in outsourcing pointing out the ins and outs of the procedure. I also really appreciated the sage and advanced advice in conversions using the split testing procedure.

I was very impressed by the two-step opt-in conversion rate when used on the landing page. I really like how you described the process as “this page is a giving page.”

  24. No mention of SendLane – I assume this video was made prior to it’s creation? Very interesting stuff. It really is a whole new world for me 🙂

      1. SendLane is for both email marketing and opt-in page. It is an autoresponder service that includes drag-n-drop landing page creation such as an opt-in page 🙂

  25. wow …. a ton of great content….the part about joining into the auto respnder was a bit hazy . although you did say its for another day ,,,,also the hosting part was hazy. i guess the net result for now foe me ….. get professional help to have it set up properly to start !! cheers v well explained ..

    1. Either nothing (or a message appears asking for a valid email address). Please ask any questions in the forum. This section is for comments only. Thank you 🙂

  26. I love Tom’s clear, straight forward instructions. Excellent material. Thanks a lot!

  27. Awesome demo! I myself is very familiar with Fiverr as I’ve used them few times already. I like the information I’m getting from this academy. Thank you!

  28. very clear, I actually surprised myself because i was able to follow along very well & understood most of this.

you are a good teacher, thank you.

  29. A lot of information here and a little foreign to me. I like that I can watch over and over, that way I retain more each time. Good job Tom. Thank you

    1. Hi Rosalie. No. You send people (aka, traffic) to a lead page. The lead page is designed to trade information for an email address.

  30. I have to comment on something stated in this video. Leadpages.net is NOT a free site. When you “join” you have to give them a credit card number and you are charged whatever the minimum is to get started. I understand they offer a 30 day money back guarantee. I don’t know how old this video is, but the some of the information given concerning Leadpages.net isn’t accurate. FYI

    1. Please excuse this comment. I went back and listened to the video again and Coach Hitchens does say there is a minimal fee for leadpages.net.

My apologies for the comment made in error.

  31. Thanks for the info. Just an addition regarding legal information. There are countries in which this is obligatory if you operate as a business. I would advice everyone to check how this situation is in their country. Please all, do not assume that US legalisation applies to your siituation..

  32. Our apologies for the late response. We’ve literally had thousands of members join in a short period of time and working through the inquiries and questions as quickly as we can. If you haven’t been in the forum yet, other members are going there to get questions answered and “first steps” guidance on how to proceed with the training. For now, please start here: http://forum.profitacademy.com/forum/need-help/where-do-i-start-first/3677-read-me-first?_=1425435279755 (watch the video as it may answer many of your initial questions). Otherwise, feel free to post questions in the thread. Thanks!

  33. Thanks again, Tom. I appreciate your thorough thought process on each element of the opt-in page. This is a lot to digest, but I see that this can be done fairly easily by taking one step or element at a time. I’ll be going back over this one a few times at least. I’m fascinated to see the mystery unfold behind these digital businesses and their pages. Very helpful presentation and education, thank you!

  34. Thanks Tom, this video is very informative and makes creating an opt-in page very comprehensive. Great job, well done…with the help of your through delivery, what was first uncertainty for me, has now become a whole new world…results driven!!!

  35. There’s a lot here to work on.. I think I’d like to see the video again at least once more to feel comfortable with the knowledge. Very exciting! and as someone else said, “yikes!”

  36. One action step at a time is what I keep telling myself every day. I started this program last year and became overwhelmed between running my other business and trying to get this going.

    1. Not necessarily. You could have a company privacy policy that applies to your entire catalog of products and websites. However, if you vary from the terms in that privacy policy for any product, then you will need a separate policy that reflects that.

  37. I liked the lead page. I just have to do it to understand the email responder and the hosting piece a bit more.. If you have blue host would you recommend switching to one of the two you showed here as in cost for newbies starting out?

  38. There are so many choices for optin page creation and autoresponders! Someone told me that Lead Pages is great, but they charge $69 (? ) a month after the trial period. If you decide to leave them, you lose access to the lead pages and everything else you signed up for while you were their client.

    1. LeadPages fee starts at $25/month and up (depending on current promotion). Note: they provide drag-n-drop landing page creation and hosting of those pages (optional). They are not an autoresponder service.

    1. Because (per the 40,000 View introductory video) you’re building a funnel that starts with building leads that you can market affiliate offers to until you’re ready to create your own product. When you’ve done that, you’ll have built-in traffic (at the push of a button) to send to your product offer.

      1. I have a question, I just started this week, and I am viewing the training material. In each video it shows you from how to research your niche to how to setup the landing page to make your list. But I do not know when to start, when I watch all the training material from Module One? or who is going to tell me when should I start doing the steps from each training video.

        1. But I do not know when to start, when I watch all the training material from Module One? or who is going to tell me when should I start doing the steps from each training video.

You should start watching all training modules available and start doing the steps immediately.

  39. Thanks a lot for the great presentation. But now I know there’s a lot to learn & digest. I have to review it again in order for me to absorb everything. Very excited and nervous.

  40. nice information – with good hints – double step optin and collect email only for better conversions.

Would be nice to know whats the experience of popup optin compared to optin field on right side of page
Influence on where to place the optin box…

What legal stuff (impressum…) do I have to meet creating a web page ? I think thats an important basics what is missing.

I signed here to get access to experience and learn from instructors and others to progress faster

  41. Very informative. Made me feel that I don’t have to be a techie to get this done. Great! And thanks for the Transcript and the Checklist. Made it easier to follow the video with the transcript and highlight and underline and Jot Notes.

  42. Besides leadpages.net, another alternative to building landing pages is landing page monkey. They also offer the two-step opt-in process.

  43. I thought Tom’s explanation of the two types of double opt-in was very clear and his comments on the conversion rate for the landing page with the pop-up was dynamite. That was a bit of insight from a seasoned professional and demonstrates exactly why I am here.

I use GetResponse and they provide a nice landing page creator with templates BUT it will cost you an extra $15.95 per month to use it. I am not going to pay that for a single function and I am not sure they host them. I will go back and use Tom’s affiliate link because I like the way he was non-pushy, and why not reward an excellent Professor.

    1. I totally agree, Jerry, with your comment about Tom’s explaining the difference between the 2-step and the double opt-in, and with your decision to use Tom’s affiliate link, helping him out. I will be doing that as well!

      1. Oops … I am SO SORRY, Tom … between the time I wrote the above comment almost 3 weeks ago, and today (when I just rewatched your video for about the 5th time), I totally forgot I was going to use your Affiliate Link to sign up at Leadpages. now I’m signed up with them (and i’m sure some other affiliate reaped the commission). I’ll make it up to you somehow, up the line. (You can contact me at my e-mail address, available in vssMind’s enrollment records, I’m sure — or you probably know better than I do how to go about it) to give me some suggestions, like perhaps other services I may be interested in that you affiliate for. Sigh…

        Larry

  44. Learning details that can Make the difference between a so-so site and a highly successful online Business. Thanks

    1. If you’re happy with ClickFunnel.com, no need to change. We want you moving forward with the least resistance 🙂

  45. I have for years given free natural health seminars in churches, groups, and on behalf of chiropractors. Now it is time to make money at it. I did not have faith in my ability to create web pages, you have alleviated that fear.
Awesome presentation, looking forward to the rest.

  46. So, are we supposed to have a website already, and use this opt-in page as part of what happens when they land at our website, or is this independent of that – we just have some opt-in page hosted at SendLane or LeadPages that harvests e-mail addresses?

      1. Great work Tom.
I have already outsourced my optin page at oDesk. But your advice that one should be in a position to effect simple typo errors immediately without recourse to referring such needs to the techie guy always is crucial, And this sets my mind on considering this DIY option. Very informative and simple to create, integrating with the autoresponder form created and the choice of hosting. It looks like Leadspages is great.
        Thanks.

    1. No. You don’t have to have it ready yet. This demonstration training is just showing you how to set it up with SendLane once you ARE ready. Your focus should be on the training modules. Make sure you’re going through them and taking notes and jotting down any questions. Remember, we have weekly ‘live’ webinars in addition to the forum where coaches are answering your questions.

  47. I thought the landing pages were ready to go, all I have would have to do is pick and choose. So, not liking that I have to build my own. Then I have to get someone to host it. I would think all this would have been taken care of in the cost of getting on board with Profit Academy.

    Thank you,
    Barbara

    1. ‘Done For You’ pages, etc will be available by Saturday, March 7. You’ll find access to that in the Bonus section of the members area (near the bottom of the training modules menu on left side). That said, knowing how to create them manually is a valued skill to have!

  48. I have not found the LeadPage opt-in creation concept anywhere. They all talk about LeadBoxes creation. LeadPage.net is wonderful. 2-step opt in is classic. Now worried what to do with clickbank web builder.

    1. This is when you get an email from your autoresponder service that you have a new lead who has subscribed to your list.

  49. Hi there ! I am working on landing pages .I tried to follow Tom’s instruction. I tried to saved my page but it said I must complete the leadbox in the intergration set up .I tried but it led me wrong way .I saw that I lost derection and don,t know where to go . Do you have any body on live chat now so I can keep my work going .And where to go to live chat ?Thank you

    1. Hi Anh. If you’re referring to a LeadPages.net page, you will need to speak to their customer support staff for help. We don’t provide support for 3rd party services. We do, however, show you some “user” steps based on our experience.

  50. Would Clickfunnels be a viable option for a novice? Perhaps there’s a reason you consciously decided to excluded it from your recommendations.

  51. Okay, now it gets a bit more technical… but through a pair of business generating glasses. I can see and feel now that there’s a lot to digest, a lot to learn, a lot to do…. can’t wait!

  52. I left another comment and now I have a question. On Anik’s presentation, I thought he said he would supply the opt in page and give free autoresponder for 60 days. Where do I find this information? I do not want to spend any more money on extra services as I understood I wouldn’t need to to this and have limited funds.
    Thanks,
    Sohana

    1. On Anik’s presentation, he said he would supply the opt in page and a free autoresponder for 30 days. how do I find this information as well?

      Thanks.

      Nadine

    2. Hi Janet, thats what you find under “Bonuses” #4 you have to sign send lane which is 90 days free – then they charge.

I myself wait for signing till I have more information and my preparation is set. I also have some ressources signed here at germany with good documentation. Maybe you read what other people tell here about sendlane… you will understand

    1. So leadpages doesn´t integrate with mail-chimp? “Only” with infusionsoft and the other providers you named? Thanks, Tom!
