  1. Great, and to the point. I love watching these videos. If I’m having trouble getting something through my head these videos help get it through to me. Can’t wait to write my first few emails

  2. I think I got the hang of things. I’m just going to have to live and learn as I go along.

  3. Not able to download the checklist. Error message appears upon clicking the download button.

  4. This whole system, instructors are wonderful! Thank you so much… I know even though I don’t understand much of this information it becomes more familiar as i listen over and over and is a challenge to get it. I have never done any of this so it’s completely new but I LOVE IT. Thanks a bunch.

    1. a “Swipe file” is a file containing information that you “swipe”. So when you see good emails from those you’re subscribed to, you take them (aka, “swipe” them) and put into a file named “email swipes” so you can use them as templates to create your own. I’ll add this term to the Terms and Glossary post in the forum. *Remember to ask questions in the forum, not here in the comments section please 🙂

  5. Here is another way you can easily do a wordpress redirect to your affiliate link:

    AKA CLOAK YOUR LINK

    Have your blog/wordpress:
(only works with a hosted wordpress site – not the free ones)

    Download Yoast SEO

    Add new post

Name it what ever you want

Then simply scroll down until you see

WordPress SEO by Yoast – it will have the follow menu

    General Page Analysis Advance Social

Click advanced and put your affiliate link in the text field named:
    301 Redirect

(I would suggest clicking the nofollow links as well – not going to say why,
just know that it’s suggested :P)

    Then simply save the page.

I would suggest on then learning how to hide these pages from general public view.

But over all this is the easiest way to do this without having to jump into the cpanel
to play with the code. This will do it for you.

Also note that it’s recommended that you stay away from Bit.ly and tinyurl.com because
most legitimate e-mails don’t use these and are quickly tagged as spam.

I’ll post this in the forum as well.

    1. Please post questions in forum. FYI: an example of how to cloak a link was shown in Monday’s “support hours” Q&A webinar. Look for the replay in the member’s area soon.

    1. An example of how to cloak a link was shown in the Monday March 16 “support hours” Q&A webinar. Replays are posted in member’s area. However, we may make a quick video on this and post it.

  6. Dave you are so knowledgeable. We are fortunate to have you as an instructor. I was doing great till the part about php and cloaking the link. I googled cloaking and learned a little more but still confused. Is this something we will need to do regularly?

  7. About PHP redirects [12:30], be sure your web hosting provider has PHP extensions enabled. More than likely they do, but be sure. If not, you may be able to request it or use their Control Panel to enable. As mentioned, you can use HTML redirection (i.e., JavaScript redirection for HTML). PHP is a server-side scripting language. JavaScript is a client-side scripting language. All browsers can process JavaScript.

  8. Incredible valuable, as English was my 5th language (I am from Denmark, Immigrated to USA in 1977 at the age of 22) I was never good at scrabble therefore learning how to construct a short letter that is likely to get read was extremely beneficial. Thanks!

  9. Thanks Dave – Good stuff. I picked up some great tips. I really love how you differentiated the obvious yet often missed objectives behind the body verses subject line. Simple yet powerful!

    Stay Grateful!

  10. WOW! I really liked this, I haven’t done too many emails yet, just some drafts thank God, because I have done them all wrong if I go by this video. I guess my initial email to get the click should be short and sweet like these examples? I guess I am overthinking it. Thanks for the great tutorial. Will watch again and I downloaded the transcript.

  11. Thanks for all the tips, tricks, Do’s and Don’t Do’s you shared with us. I dug the idea of creating a swipe file with catchy and curiosity-based email subject lines to use them when needed in the future.
Dave I really appreciate all your energy and effort in doing these video tutorials for us.

    1. @Olerile Mochawacha cloaking affiliate links is a common practice for various reasons. One main reason is that the links look very ugly, and most times are very long.
Tip: you’ll know what I mean once you get your first Clickbank affiliate link up. You will certainly want to cloak that as it wil be very unattractive if you send out that link to your subscriber and it might also look very suspicious to them too.
